Hello to all.  Today, I drew my first drawing of a boy.  I'm good at drawing girls, but for some odd reason not so much boys.  But I think it turned out pretty good!

Sorry about the slow posting :)  Ok, well i've been trying to work on drawing things other than people.  Because I have a dream of being an anime artist, and writing books.  But anime isn't just people, you have to draw objects around them.  So I drew an anime kitty.  I think it turned out pretty well ;)



Heres a few anime pictures I challenge you to draw!

This one, because its really pretty, and tells a story.  If you want, pair a story with the picture!  Why is she crying?

Make all these faces, and draw them on your own personal character.  

Pair up a story with this one.  Make up a creepy name like "Awful Agatha" and tell why she's crazy....

Draw all these eyes, and try to make them as close to the original as possible.  Also really study them, and try to make anime characters with these eyes.

Hands

Hi guys, so I don't know if this is just me, but I often have trouble drawing hands!  They are so hard to draw,  yet I really don't even know why.  But heres a video to help.

To all people out there, who want to draw anime, weather professionally, or just for yourself, it is important to remember that there are no limits.  You can draw whatever you want, make your dreams come life.  You can express different personalities, it could be your friends, or you.  You can make a world, different, and better than this one.  

Clothing and Shadows...

This one looks as though he is sitting or standing in front of a fire, weather its a campfire, or just a candle.  

This one is definitely helpful, I will see about looking at some real people, and trying to turn them into anime characters....

This doesn't really have anything to do with learning how to draw clothing wrinkles, just some really good drawing ^_^

Shadows, Wrinkles, and their placement....?

So i'm trying to focus on lines, shadows, and wrinkles in clothing right now....I never understand where to put them, how they should look, so i'm stuck copying someone elses so I can maybe learn to understand more. And trust me, I am starting to understand way more things.  Like light, and highlights, and coloring.  But theres still a lot more to learn.  I'm going put up some youtube videos about wrinkles, lines, and shadows here in a minute, so you can learn with me!

I would never go that far to look like an anime character, but I agree with the dude.  If it makes her happy, and its not hurting anyone else, who are we to judge?

I'm trying to think of a good anime series of my own.  I want to right a manga book, but I always get writers block, and then after I finally get a good story, I get frustrated because my drawing sucks!  UGGG....  But I have a book dedicated to anime manga ideas.  I'm probably thinking about anime 90 percent of my day.  But thats just me.

Just to let you guys know, I draw based off pictures I get from tumblr, and then save them to my computer.  But I almost never copy them exactly.  I put my own twist on them.  For instance I was drawing a girl with blonde, short hair in a green dress.  I slightly changed her facial structure, made her hair a tad longer, and changed the color of her hair and dress.  The only thing i'm having troubles with is the fact that I can't draw wrinkles and folds in clothing.  Which is why i'm not able to draw my own characters, but just twerk and form others.  But i'm getting there! 

Here is the girl I drew, but imagine her hair longer, and brown, and her dress yellow and orange, and her head a little bit bigger.  Oh, and I included her hands and legs.

Cosplay is a very real hobby, that a lot of people find strange, and lame.  But I don't feel that way.  I mean, there are all sorts of hobby's.  And maybe a lot of them are weird, but as long as they aren't causing anyone harm or distress, and they make the person happy, who are we to judge?  But Cosplay could be very fun I imagine.  And I guess the goal is to make yourself look as realistic as possible.  

So if you were to try cosplay, what or who would you dress up as?

Missing my anime a lot!  My plane leaves tonight, and i'm kind of happy, kind of sad.  But I am reading anime manga books on the flight back, which makes me happy.  Most of them are from the show Fruits Basket.  The cutest show ever!  Its about these people with the "Somah" curse.  If they get to excited or are embraced by the opposite sex, they transform into an animal from the zodiac.  Tohru Honda moves in with them, and soon discovers the secret.  Its one of my favorite shows, and I was excited to find tons of books with new "episodes".  I am wondering if Tohru will ever break the curse, and who she will end up with.  When I am older I plan to become a college art teacher on the side.... I want to explore all the genres of art, but Anime will probably always be by far my favorite....  I have decided to call my blog fans "ALU's" Because we are all part of the Anime Lovers Unit.  I will be posting more tonight, so stay tuned.  Kissies for my ALU's ^_^

It cracks me up to read the comments on anime shows.  One comment said "Manly tears were shed near the end."  LOL!!!

I am not going to be posting for 4 days because of a Washington D.C. trip.  But on Monday all will be the norms again.  My new Anime i'm watching is called Sankarea.  Its about this dude who's obbsessed with zombies, and this rich girl who is absolutely misserable, and her father keeps taking naked pictures of her as "proof of her growth".  I don't want to say more because maybe you'll want to watch it.  But its a really funny, cute, original series.  Go to animeavenue.net and look up Sankarea to watch it ^_^

I cried during the last episode of my show like 5 times.  I can't tell you why in case you want to watch it but.......OMG ITS SO SAD AND SO HAPPY AT THE SAME TIME!!!!!  Goodbye lovely anime series, even though there will be many after, I will never forget you!!!

Amazing video using Copic Markers

My main focus right now is drawing anime Girls, because they are easier to draw and I just like drawing all the different hairstyles and I want to master their body image before I move on to boys.

Y'know what I was wondering, what kind of markers, pencils, and pens should I get to draw really good Anime?  Anime, of course, takes talent in the drawing field ..but what tools do you need to make it look good?  I did some research, and this is what I found.


Copic Markers are very good for coloring in your anime....

Copic markers cost about 4 or 5 dollars a marker, or 70 dollars for a set.  Pretty expensive, but very worth it.


For beginners people definitely suggest to get a  How to Draw Anime book.  And some anatomy books.  You can get them from your local library, or buy them from Hobby Lobby.  eBay is also a very good place to buy things like How to Draw books.  Just be careful, and make sure that the books are in mid-condition. Prices vary a lot with different books on eBay   Sometimes you can get deals, like a set of books for 30 dollars, or sometimes a book can cost 30 dollars by itself.  

You can do about anything with a good #2 pencil.  

Sargent Art Colored Pencils are very good for Anime.  Remember you always need a really good black pencil and/or marker for outlining.  

Remember one important thing though.....even though you have all these tools, you have to know how to draw first.  These tools will not do it for you.  

Anime Tutorial

This isn't mine, I lost my camera due to stupidity......but i'm definitely going to try out his tutorial.   Is he just using a regular pencil...or a really nice one?  I can't tell.

This is the anime Genre Ecchi


Ecchi is very risky anime that lies on the edge or ADULTS ONLY , but not quite there yet.  Ecchi, unlike some people may think, can be quite tasteful.  It can be romantic, and make a girl gush and coo...
It doesn't have to be very revealing either, sometimes it can be categorized in Ecchi due to violence and blood being shown.  Sometimes it could be strong language... Or sometimes it can be revealing and based on sex.  But even then, it can still be tasteful, funny, and romantic. People may think that only a man would watch the Ecchi category, but that simply isn't true.  I, being a girl myself, like the Ecchi category.  My sight I go to is called: animeavenue.net   It has many many many different animes, and most are English subbed, but if it isn't it will have the red "raw" label over the picture before you click on it.  But even then, they plan to sub it very soon.  

Anime is looked down upon by a lot of people.  People say Anime doesn't count as art.  People say, quote, "Anime is for losers."  Found a couple of those comments from annoying haters on YouTube.  People say Anime isn't well drawn.  My own father has said "Anime" in a mocking tone, as if to say its stupid.  Well y'know what, ALL THESE PEOPLE ARE FRUCKING WRONG!!!!  Anime/Manga is really hard to draw, and it is an art.  The first Anime was produced in 1917, about this dude fighting this other dude with his new samurai sword, but was defeated. There are many Americans, much like myself, who are obsessed with Anime.  My dream is to become an American anime producer, including Movies, Television shows,  and manga books.  I also would like to learn Japanese, because most anime on the internet is english subbed, but spoken in English.  I feel it will help me to be able to understand Japanese anime.  I find that anime is emotional, and beautiful, and almost any person could get into it, if they give it a chance.  There are many Genres, like school, ecchi, action, adventure, supernatural, martial arts, drama, romantic,ect.... 

 I once thought I wanted to be an author, but then I realized I couldn't stand to write, because then all I wanted to do was see it come to life. I realize now, that every goal I have set taps in with Anime.  I like Drama, I like drawing, I love making up stories (and I can come up with an interesting plot, or scene, with one word to start off with) and everything points to Anime.
